Food at The Old Boathouse

Good quality pub food served all day

At The Old Boathouse, we like to make sure our food reflects all that’s best about British pub food. So we offer tasty meals and snacks that are freshly prepared and presented with care, using ingredients sourced from local suppliers where possible. And we don’t want you to go home hungry, so we make sure we serve decent sized portions.

Breakfast is a simple affair, with the Boathouse Full English Breakfast at the heart of the menu. Of course, the sausages are from our local butchers (Jessie Smiths of Cirencester) and the eggs are free-range (as are all our eggs), but to start the day, it’s a simple, well cooked breakfast. Just what the doctor ordered.

Lunch at The Old Boathouse

From lunchtime through to 6.00pm, we serve sandwiches (hot and cold), warming bowls of soup and lighter lunches, such as our Classic Caesar Salad. There’s also a good selection of heartier meals, such as Beer Battered Hake and Chips, Three Egg Omelette and the legendary Boathouse Burger. On Sundays we serve a traditional Sunday roast with real roast potatoes and plenty of seasonal vegetables.

In the evenings, our dinner menu offers familiar favourites alongside some more inventive dishes, which have included a Twice Baked Haddock Soufflé, Carpaccio of Venison and a Trio of Pork, to name but a few. We like to refresh the menu every few months to include new seasonal dishes, while our popular Old Boathouse Classics are a regular feature. These include the Chef’s Pie of the Week (it’s man-size!) and the mouth watering Sausage and Mash (made with our favourite sausages from Jessie Smith of Cirencester). And let’s not forget the Steak and Chips, a 21 day aged, 10oz prime sirloin, cooked how you like it (not how the chef likes it) and served with home-made chips.

Eating at The Old Boathouse

It’s worth leaving a little room for dessert, even if we do say so ourselves. If you don’t have a sweet tooth, why not try one of our Cheese Slates, which include some great local cheeses? Or if you really can’t manage a dessert, how about another drink or a coffee before heading off?

The Old Boathouse is a family-friendly pub, so younger diners won’t be disappointed. They can choose from our Children’s menu, or, if they’re particularly peckish, they can tuck into selected dishes from the main menu and get 1/3 off the full price.

We’re open from 11am until late and we serve food all day, every day. So whatever time it is, and whatever tickles your taste-buds, come along to The Old Boathouse and experience real pub food at its best.
